One of Handel’s greatest oratorios, Israel in Egypt contains some of the composer’s most moving and exultant music, portraying the richly textured Biblical tale of the Hebrew tribes enslaved in ancient Egypt. Here are the famous events told and re-told: oppression under a relentless Pharaoh...the rise of the prophet Moses the great plagues and the parting of the Red Sea... and the ultimate salvation of the children of Israel.
